It is ankle length and has side gores for a for a fuller hem, and the sleeves are long and gathered with elastic at the wrist. The overdress has a semi-fitted bodice and attached skirt and it is open in front. The bodice is made of sturdy jacquard fabric with a large renaissance pattern in red and gold tones. It is decorated down the front with brown and metallic braided trim. The bodice is lined in white linen. The skirt is made of a gorgeous red velvet, it is full and gathered at the waist. The dress buttons up in front with fancy gold metal buttons with a leaf design, and has bands with grommets and lacing at the back for a bit more adjustability.
