This listing is for my original mixed media piece "Chasm of Color." The size is 8"x24" on a 5/8" deep stretched canvas, although the raised texture protrudes from the canvas making the depth variable, up to about 1.75" in places. The materials are air dry clay and various acrylic paints. The cracked rocky portion is in shades of brown, copper, and some orange with a matte finish. The pool portions are in vivid colors like minerals pools or blue, green, and yellow with a shiny acrylic varnish to make it look wet. There is green "algae" on the rocks, created with some loosley woven linen. The little holes in the rocks are filled with beautiful little green and blue malachite stone beads.
I really liked the crackled look of the edges on this piece, so I painted the canvas edges and added and wire hanger so it is ready to be hung unframed (you may decide to frame it, but keep in mind it may damage the edges where the clay is so once framed it will likely have to stay that way)
This piece is sturdy, but due to it's materials should be handled with care so as not to chip it or break the clay pieces. It will be shipped very well padded and carefully boxed with shipping insurance.
