This listing is for my unframed original mixed media piece "Momentum." The size is 16"x20" on a 5/8" deep stretched canvas. It features small pieces of gorgeous bright colorful batik cotton arranged in a busy almost tie-dye pattern of circles with a little acrylic paint in the centers. It is glazed with a shiny acrylic gloss finish and has quite a bit of texture. (I've done my best to show the colors accurately, with the glossy surface and monitor differences colors may look slightly different in person - they look more vivid in person than on my screen) This piece can actually be hung in any direction, so it is not framed and does not have any hangers attached so that you can choose how you want to hang it - or add hangers to each side so you can change it whenever you want! The edges are painted but just to seal the fabric down, it will need a frame but as it's such a colorful piece I thought it best to leave that to the buyer's taste.
This piece was made of a very slightly damaged canvas that wasn't able to work for a regular painting but I hate to waste anything - my ridiculous cat Freya tried to jump onto a high shelf, and because she has a bent tail and crooked hips her balance is not great and she missed, accidently falling onto the shelf below. This caused her feet to hit the canvas and launch it into my partner's sewing machine, landing it on the thread post and poking a small hole in the canvas....hence the title "Momentum". (The hole is now very well patched with all this fabric and will not affect the quality or durability of the piece, you can only see it from the back and even then it's not obvious).
This will be shipped in a well padded box with insurance.
