Grobb the Goblin Court Jester - Large Needle Felted Doll

$175.00

Grobb was never very good at being a goblin. His goblin clan tried to teach him to steal and play tricks, but he was always goofing up and making everyone laugh instead. One day, his brother dared him to sneak into the nearby castle to steal some fancy candlesticks - it did not go well. Right as he grabbed a golden ornate candlestick, he tripped and dropped it, making a huge crashing sound. He looked up in fear to see the grumpy king staring at him...he was sure this was the end for him. But the king stared for a moment, then started laughing! The king hadn't laughed in a long time, and asked Grobb to stay in the castle and be his court jester. Grobb was overjoyed! He spent the rest of his days entertaining the royal court and never had to steal again.

Grobb is a needle felted doll made of various types of wool with a wire skeleton. He does not stand, but his legs and arms are flexible and can be posed. His clothes (not removable) are made of merino wool felt, silk, and velvet with velvet ribbon and braided trim. He has little leaf buttons on his doublet and gold bells sewn to his hat and collar. All his clothing is hand sewn. His shoes are leather, made parti-colored in teal and purple. The shoes were actually made for a human baby by my partner Ian, but she outgrew them before she could wear them which is how actually how Grobb came to be! Grobb has large glass eyes, and his disturbingly realistic teeth are made of resin. If stretched out, he is about 25" tall from the top of his hat to the tip of his toes. He is very much a one of a kind doll, I plan on making more goblins but there will only be one Grobb!
