NOTE: This pair is the same as our regular drop-down menu shoes for this style, however we forgot to do the stitching around the top opening of the shoe (see first two photos) so we decided to list it by itelf - this stitching is decorative and does not afffect the durability of the shoe. These shoes are similar to a modern Mary Jane style shoe but made the same way we make our medieval turnshoes. I have an old foot injury that hurts when I wear most modern shoes, so our shoe guy (Ian) makes me turn shoes to wear as my everyday shoes - this is a style he adapted from our poulaine pattern and works well with medieval and renaissance costumes as well as a regular everyday shoe. I wear these all over and get lots of compliments, and these have become one of my favorite comfy shoe styles!
These shoes are made of dark brown cowhide (looks black in some of these photos but it is a very dark brown) They have punched holes for the ties, which are soft black cotton ribbon. There is a black suede insole in black for a little extra cushioning. They are soft and flexible and shape to your feet with a little wear so they are super comfortable. Available in standard US women's sizes 6-11. If you wear in between sizes, I recommend going up in size (for example I wear a 6.5 and the size 7 fits better than the size 6)
