This shoe style is a spin on some of our historic shoes - I have an old foot injury that makes it painful to wear modern shoes, so Ian (our shoe maker) made me a pair of these to wear as my every day shoes. We name most of our historic shoes after the locations where the originals were found, so this one is named after our little rural community we live in, Allegany! I loved mine so much that we decided to put some on here for others. We had this bright turquoise colored hide sitting around and figured...why not? This pair is a US women's size 8.
This pair is made of a bright turquoise colored cowhide with dark brown soles. They have puched holes for the lacing and brown soft cotton ribbon to lace them up. There is a vegetable tanned leather insole and on top of that there is another suede insole in black for a little extra cushioning. They are soft and flexible and shape to your feet with a little wear so they are super comfortable.
